A flash flood had destroyed large parts of the city Chennai and its surrounding areas in December, 2015. It had devastated many schools and thousands of children lost their study materials and belongings. IAET took up its initiative I STAND – I STEP (IAET Stand for Tamil Nadu Against Natural Disaster and Integrated Support Towards Educational Rehabilitation Programme) and helped out some schools and students in flood affected areas.
The National Educational Policy (NEP)–2016 Special Committee was appointed to submit the views and suggestions on New National Educational Policy, 2016 that by the Central Government, to the Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India.
The Pink Bank Initiative has been started in 2016 for the benefit of Children with Special Needs and their parents of poor socioeconomic people. Under the Pink Bank, IAET provides a financial and other assistance to the children with special needs and their parents to get the educational and mental health services regularly and effectively.
